Youth Academy
Runs every Saturday afternoon, 13:30 - 16:00 in a traffic free area.
The Youth Academy is a young persons first exposure to our club. We run coaching for the Youth Academy on a Saturday afternoon, advanced rides meeting a 13:30 until 14:30 and beginners/improvers from 15:00 until 16:00.
We offer two free sessions for young people to come along and give it a try. The sessions are overseen by qualified coaches and the focus is to learn in a safe and fun environment.
At Wheal Velocity we are keen to introduce a wide range of bike skills. We alternate between road and off road skills coaching. Please see our "Calendar" page so you know which type of training to expect and keep and eye on our Facebook page for last minute changes.
After your two free sessions you would need to join the club, only £12 per year, and pay £3 per session. Click the "Join Us" button to find out more.
The next step after the Youth Academy advanced riders would be to join our race teams.
Holiday Training

Fantastic bank holiday weekend coaching in the sunshine !! Who would've thought it .. clear progression seen every week now with our regular attendances.
Academy off-road training
20th April
Great training sessions today with beginners and advanced groups in the glorious sunshine
The advance group made use of our newly built berm whilst the beginners practiced the basics such as standing up, looking ahead during cornering, braking and body position.
Next academy session is road bike focus- 27th April
Next off road session is May 4th.
