Time Trial Dates 2025

Not only have we got the date for the first Time Trail (TT) of 2025 but we also have TT road bike league dates.

What's this TT/road bike thing all about?

Well, you can enter a TT on a special TT bike with aero bars and, you know, the whole fancy go faster helmet. Or you can just turn up on your normal road bike. Clearly you will (should) go faster on a fancy aero bike so these get put in a separate category. When you turn up on your normal road bike you are only "racing" other road bikes.

TT are "raced" by yourself on public roads, normally early on a Sunday morning so the roads are less busy. Racers get set off at one minute intervals, so you are by yourself on the open road. Young riders are allowed to have a chaperone riding behind them.

The aim of a TT is to get the fastest time, either to win or just to be better than you did last time.

Never has it been so easy to get involved with TT in Cornwall. For the road bike league Kernow Racing Team (KRT) are covering the cost of CTT, the governing body of TT's, fees. Making the road bike league even better value.

Like Wheal Velocity, KRT are passionate about getting youngsters into riding bikes. For 2025 KRT are offering free entry to their events (not national or ladies event) for young riders, under 18's.

If TT is your thing of you fancy giving it a go then keep an eye on the KRT Facebook for further information and booking details.

If you want to take advantage of the U18's free entry you must get in touch with KRT before the closing date of online entry.

Did you scan read that?

Here are the absolute basics for entering a TT,

1. You must enter online via the CTT website, entre closes about about a week before the event. (unless you are under 18, than contact KRT as its free!!)

2. You must be 12 or over to enter, you can have a "support" rider following you if you so wish. This is common for younger riders who are worried about being on the road.

3. You can enter on any bike, not electric. Yes I have seen people TT on a mountain bike and why not, you are only racing the clock.

4. Most important one last. You must turn up at your start time with working front and rear lights. Even in the middle of the day, this is a hard rule set by CTT.

Jam First, Wednesday Night is TT night.

"SUMMER CLUB 10s ARE BACK!

Anthony Green and Phil Bowden are teaming up once again to bring you the brand-new Summer Racing Club TT League!

This exciting new league will feature five events, including four 10-mile time trials at Ladock, and a final hill climb at Carnon Downs, capped off with an end-of-league celebration to wrap up the summer in style.

The time trials will take place on Wednesday evenings throughout July and August, and will be run as "come and try" events, welcoming riders of all levels.

League registration: £5 per rider

Event entry: £10 per event

As well as podium prizes, we’ll also be handing out some funky and fun awards—so there’s something for everyone, not just the fastest riders!

Anthony and Phil will be organising the league as a sideline to Kernow Racing, as their team is already committed to over 50% of this season’s Cornish races. With that in mind, if any riders from neighbouring clubs would like to help out at an event, your support will be greatly appreciated—and you’ll receive a £25 cash donation as a thank you.

We’re currently seeking event sponsorship—if you know of a business that would like to support the league, please get in touch!

We’d love to see strong support from the local cycling community—whether you’re racing for the win, the laughs, or the biscuits.

Full dates and details to follow."
